The Midway Fire District High Angle Rope Rescue team provides specialized rescue services to the Midway District and surrounding communities. Firefighters on this team require a more comprehensive set of skills, as they rely entirely on ropes and other specialized hauling and hoisting equipment to access and rescue people and animals who are stranded. The District has one company, Truck Company 36, solely dedicated to Special Operations Rope Rescue. All specialized equipment is carried on this apparatus and all members assigned to this company are rope team members. Of the thirty-six line firefighters, twenty-one are specially trained and are certified rope team members, and all other firefighters are trained to a support level.
